    Seb & Dani's Autumn Wedding

    June 29, 2016

We met through mutual friends out at dinner. Seb was under the impression his best friend at the time liked me & wanted to pursue a relationship, so like any good mate - he encouraged it!

Little did Seb know, I was actually interested in him the whole time and was only hanging out with his mate because I knew Seb would always be there!

The proposal happened during a weekend away with close friends on our third anniversary.

Seb sent me away for the day with my girlfriends for some pampering while he, along with our families and friends made their way to Lake Daylesford and set up approx. 250 candles.

When the girls and I arrived at Lake Daylesford, I thought we were on our way to meet Seb & his friends for dinner to celebrate our anniversary - little did I know I was in for a lot more!

The lead up to the wedding wasn't too stressful as we had started planning right after the engagement. Being well organised and having a checklist is always recommend as well as starting to plan as early as possible even if it's just the little things.

We personalized a lot for our wedding, as a graphic designer, every little styling aspect at the wedding was developed, designed and brought to life myself.

     We included:

    •  Handmade stained-wooden printed wedding invites & place cards

    •  Reverse printed perspex Bonbonniere quotes & Table numbers

    •  Big Letters "S&D" to be at the forefront of the Bridal Table

    •  "Welcome" signage printed on Forex sheeting

    •  Printed cotton stock/paper for the "Order of Service" & "Table Menus"

We loved EVERYTHING about The Park!

The Location - Overlooking a stunningly spectacular sunset view of Albert Park Lake location choices for wedding photo was endless. Parking around the venue made it easy for guests to get there.

The Venue - Open & modern-industrial architectural warehouse style with exposed brick walls and a high building ceiling with open view Trussed beams and extravagant chandeliers.

The Staff - The staff at MEG were first class and above reproach on the lead up to our wedding and during the day throughout the reception.

Specifically Natasha Dimitrijevski - Senior Events Coordinator; we cannot thank her enough for her professionalism and expertise. We have already referred numerous couples to come see MEG and will continue to do so!

Given Seb is a Michael Jackson fan our first dance was to Butterflies, we decided to choose this song purely because we loved the lyric, and the beat was on point!

For my dress, I tried a few that I'd fallen in love with online but when I tried them on they didn't quite tick all the boxes. Dresses look very different on than in a photo so I think it's important to keep an open mind and try all styles to see what suits!

My stylist, Sylvia at Raffaele Cuica ended up bringing me one that had everything I described and as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one! A sheer, back with buttons all the way down, sleeves, all lace and the most beautiful train I've ever seen!

Our main tips and tricks are to keep open communication at all times. Start planning early no matter how little things are as it will allow for less stress closer to the big "special" day.

No matter what, always set aside "you" time together.
