Love at First Sight

Alex and I meet through mutual friends out for coffee. We caught eyes and felt an instant connection, we exchanged numbers from there and we’ve never looked back.

He swept me away to Daylesford for a romantic birthday weekend. We stayed in a gorgeous tree-top cottage surrounded by nature, wine and a dozen of our favorite movies! It was sunset and I had just gone to have a shower, when I opened the door the room was filled with twinkling candles and 2 glasses of Champagne. Alex begun speaking sweet words (all of which are a little fuzzy; I was in an emotional haze of excitement, shock and overwhelming happiness). He then went down on bended knee and I was his forever! 

Planning our wedding was the fun part! Alex and I have a strong network of family and friends surrounding us which made the planning process really fun and enjoyable. It was important for us to make our guests and bridal party feel as much a part of our day as possible.

For the bridesmaids, we gifted the girls personalised candles and nail polish (say-it-with polish nails -they’re gorgeous!) and a gorgeous Samantha Wills ring. The boys received cigars, personalised flasks, cuff links and some fun socks to wear on the day!

The remaining guests received personalised candles from Mazii Collection – they were gold foil and coconut lime scented (delicious!).

That view at The Park– WOW! No matter what time of day or night, the reception lighting was just stunning. From the sunshine beaming through the high-ceiling windows to the moment the sun went down and the candle lights fill the space with romantic ambiance.

John Legend’s You and I was the song we chose for our first dance. The first time Alex and I heard it, the lyrics resonated with us and it honestly felt like this song was made for us.

Choosing the gown was probably the most difficult decision of the whole bridal process. Not because I didn’t know what I wanted but because it signified the whole wedding really feeling real. The staff at Raffaela Cuica were lovely to deal with and certainly helped ease my anxiety! They did say, when you put on ‘the one’ you just know and I couldn’t agree more. It was totally love at first sight!

My tips for other couples headed down the aisle soon are don’t sweat the small stuff, sleep well, stress less and most importantly don’t lose sight of WHY you’re getting married!
