I’m originally from England having travelled here in 2008 backpacking with my girlfriend. We loved Melbourne and wanted to stay so set about doing that. I was sponsored to stay in 2010 and we’re now married, with a two year old girl called Olive.
Experience in the hospitality/events industry
I’ve always worked in hospitality, from the early years in pubs to later working in restaurants in England, in and around Birmingham where I’m from. In Australia, as Head Chef at The Big Group catering company I was part of some great parties and events, from the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Portsea Polo’s and overseas weddings in Saudi Arabia and Doha. Along the way I’ve got to work with some amazing chefs, and some amazing people.
What do I love the most about my job
I love working with passionate and talented people, and getting to cook with them or for them. I’ve been lucky enough to cook with some fantastic chefs over the years and their help, guidance and encouragement is something I will always be grateful for.
